Curious about how online learning works?
With online learning, your child can learn at home or wherever there’s an internet connection while enjoying the benefits and support of the Granite State Academy Online Program (GSAOP) program. They’ll complete a mix of online lessons and offline activities using K12-provided books and materials1. Certified teachers provide live instruction in virtual sessions.
What to Expect
Our Programs
GSAOP uses quality curriculum from K12 designed to let students find the learning style that works best for them, enabling them to find their own path to success. Each online classroom offers engaging and relevant lessons that build real-world skills based on your child’s interests and abilities.
What’s my role as a parent?
As Learning Coach, you’ll be able to take an active and vital role in your child’s education. Plan to:
- Provide academic support, motivation, and guidance throughout the school year
- Ensure your child is on track with assignments and coursework
- Communicate with teachers
- Report daily attendance
If you or your child’s legal guardian cannot fill this role, you may choose a family member, friend, or another trusted adult to serve as Learning Coach.
Frequently Asked Questions
What grades do you offer?
GSAOP serves students in grades 7–12, offering a supportive community where your child can thrive from middle school through high school graduation.
How much does it cost?
GSAOP is a tuition-free public school program, so you won’t pay for classes or materials. We provide certified teachers and instructional materials. You’ll just need to supply a few basic household items—like printer ink and paper.
How much screen time should I expect?
We aim for a healthy balance between online and offline learning. Screen time increases as students move through middle and high school. Even in the upper grades, we mix in plenty of hands-on learning—like science experiments, reading real books, and solving math problems on paper.
Will my child have chances to socialize?
Yes! We know how important social time is. Your child will have opportunities to join school outings, field trips, and local meetups with other students and families. We also offer a wide variety of virtual clubs where students can connect with friends who share their interests—from art and photography to robotics and esports.
